The velocity of a note affects its volume, on the MD. I often use
notes with velocity 1 to "choke" off a playing sound.

It sends all note information on its base channel. The only reason it
receives information on 4 channels is so you can transmit controller
data to all the MDs instruments using standard CCs. You can trigger
any note on it from any of those 4 channels, as well.

My only problem was that when the MD received a program change, it
would modify the drum kit of whatever pattern it happened to be on.
With the new OS 1.12, I can switch prg chg off and also see which
patterns are "empty" so I can change prg all over them and not worry
about messing up something I was doing in the MD sequencer. Elektron
are my heroes.
