If I were you I would get or build a cheap PC and run Nemesys Gigastudio. I have 60 GB of sample libraries instantly on tap, you can't do that with a hardware unit. I like to step program patterns into the MD, record them in Digital Performer, then use Gigastudio to play them back using different sample libraries, or layer the MD with the samples. It's very cool.
