On the other hand, everybody's got to learn. I remember a gig with my first band. We existed 1 year, and just had about 15 songs so we could play for about 60 minutes. We had only done one gig before. Then I got a phonecall from a guy who wanted us to play live 3 days later at a big student party where at least 500 people would come (which was huge, considering the fact we had only played for about 50 people at the local football club!). We had to replace an American funk act that couldn't make it (and we were playing "new wave", couldn't sing, and had no experience whatsoever. Well, what can I say. We rehearsed day and night for 3 days, did the gig - and many things went wrong. Although we got some applause, and strangely enough no one walked away (probably because of the dj that got on stage right after us), we definitely sucked big time. Somewhere I still have the tape, and I just don't dare to listen to it. It was really embarrassing... Gert
