The wizard is simply there to ensure that everybody updates their machine in a similar way. We decided not to use MIDI files since no two sequencers replays them exactly the same (Logic and Cubase are a good example of this). Sysex files are better but there are few really good programs that handles this kind of data well. Since the Os 1.0 has a simple routine for the flash upgrade it is quite possible to kill the upgrade code in it. It's imperative that the upgrade data is fed in a orderly fashion. Otherwise the upgrade routine will be confused. The flash would then be empty and further upgrade attempts to Os 1.1 would be futile. You would have to re-program the rom with an eprom programmer to fix this. I hope using a wizard doesn't cause too much problems. My appologies also goes out to Mac OS users. We are working on a wizard for them as well. Best regards, Mikael, Elektron
