Hi!
The wizard is simply there to ensure that everybody updates their
machine in a similar way. We decided not to use MIDI files since no
two sequencers replays them exactly the same (Logic and Cubase are
a good example of this). Sysex files are better but there are few
really good programs that handles this kind of data well.
Since the Os 1.0 has a simple routine for the flash upgrade it is
quite possible to kill the upgrade code in it. It's imperative
that the upgrade data is fed in a orderly fashion. Otherwise the
upgrade routine will be confused.
The flash would then be empty and further upgrade attempts to Os 1.1
would be futile. You would have to re-program the rom with an eprom
programmer to fix this.
I hope using a wizard doesn't cause too much problems. My appologies
also goes out to Mac OS users. We are working on a wizard for them as
well.
