I compared the sounds. The MD sounds crisp and clear, the 909 has a much more muffled sound. Next time I'll add some EQ to the 909 to make it brighten up. Those hihats are nice, but they are just samples, and can be found in every sample library on earth... The MD is for me a new instrument with new sonical capabilities, not something made to emulate the sounds from old drummachines (Despite the E12 kit...).
