Elektron Musical Instruments

hey folks,

I just got my MD this week. amazing machine. right now
I am using it to sync up the sequencers in my Evolver
and Nord Modular, making some music without a computer
for the first time in a long time ;)

one question. I have combed the manual and can't seem
to find anything specific on this: is there a way to
disable the MD from sending MIDI note messages while
having it continue to send MIDI clock, stop and start
messages? 

I saw a suggestion for someone using the MD with a
soft-sequencer to use MIDI filtering in the software
or the MIDI interface. but since I am using neither of
these (just a direct serial MIDI-In/MIDI-Thru chain
with the hardware), I was hoping there was a way to
disable this from within the MD itself.

I suppose one way around it would be to not use any
internal sounds on the MD for the 4 base MIDI
channels... but that sets me back to 12 parts only
with the MD and doesn't seem like a fair way to do
it...

am I screwed here? do I need to ask Elektron to
implement this in a future OS update?
