md syncing problems

2003-05-23 by sid -

hello user list!

i'm using the machinedrum with fruityloops studio 4.1 (yes, shoot me... ;)

i've set up a midi out track in fruity to trigger patterns on the md, not
single drum hits.

when i set the md's sync source to external and set the master sync out in
fruity, the md isn't really in the same bpm. i guess this happens b/c a pc
is a bit unprecise when running such apps and doesn't have the exact bpm,
the md is more accurate.

anyways, the song has 120 bpm in fruity, and when i run it, the md's bpm get
updated with every beat, balancing between 128 and 115 bpm, that goes up and
down but never really hits 120 bpm. you can imagine that the beat doesn't
fit to well from time to time then...

i also tried to set the md's sync to internal and to 120 bpm and just
trigger the drum pattern every 16 counts, but that is also too unprecise,
sometimes the bd sounds like if hit twice at a time then.

i know that fruityloops isn't cubase, isn't reason, isn't any of these
higher level killer music making apps, but i use it since years and it seems
best for me (the studio edition even more).

so, can anybody help me?

greetings from austria,
gert
