Hey Simon,

Gotta say, Live is the software equivalent of the MD - by which I mean, it's 
simple, logical, effective and it gets the job done with the minimum of 
fuss. The included fx are also very good (I find no need for third party 
plug ins). Download the demo and you'll see what I mean. Finally there are 
companies like Elektron and Ableton making products that do not get in the 
way of the creative process. Hoorah!! =0)
