Re: [elektron] When is the MD going to get updated?

2003-06-09 by amos luyk

From what I have gathered in my communications with Electron, they have just
about squeezed all they can from the DSP. In other words, we can all wish as
much as we like, but we are unlikely to see much in the way of new features
apart from a new machine or two. I am sure we could all come up with our own
'must have' 'just one more' features, but you would get the same from anyone
who has ever owned a Mini Moog for instance, but who would dare say it was
not a completed instrument?
My point here is that there is a tendancy to want more and more which leads
to dissatisfaction, when we should perhaps be happy with what we have. I say
this because this has been a major source of dissatisfaction for me with
many bits of kit for years, and I have recently been rethinking the whole
thing, and I am much happier (I waited for two years for the promised MIDI
out module on my Nord Modular, but now I know it's not coming I feel so let
down... silly!).

just my 2 cents worth - not a critisism of anyone, more a pointer for a
happier life =0)

thinking happy thoughts
