hullo there,

New machines would be nice, but the truth is... this is the best drum
machine ever made, bar none!! If they never change a thing it would not be a
problem. I have never encountered a 'perfect' instrument, and do not expect
to, so my advice would be learn to love your MD as it is, and then any
improvements will be a joyful gift, and the lack of them will never be a
worry =0)

Hi,

When i purchased mine a month ago, i asked about
new machines and updates. Elektron feels the MD
is a completed product, so i would not expect any
new feature or machine in the near future.

RE: [elektron] When is the MD going to get updated?

2003-06-09 by Matt Picone

The MD is the best drum machine ever, but it does have room for a few
minor enhancements.

Being able to map a global midi cc to one or two paramters would make it
more powerful when played from pads or drum triggers.I'd also like to
see the ability to route velocity in realtime to more than just volume--
pitch for example, or filter cutoff.

Who can argue that this wouldn't be simple and awesome?!

Exactly! A simple modulation matrix would be cool. To be honest, I got that
idea last week from someone at the music-bar.

Hey, don't I know you...?

From what I have gathered in my communications with Electron, they have just
about squeezed all they can from the DSP. In other words, we can all wish as
much as we like, but we are unlikely to see much in the way of new features
apart from a new machine or two. I am sure we could all come up with our own
'must have' 'just one more' features, but you would get the same from anyone
who has ever owned a Mini Moog for instance, but who would dare say it was
not a completed instrument?
My point here is that there is a tendancy to want more and more which leads
to dissatisfaction, when we should perhaps be happy with what we have. I say
this because this has been a major source of dissatisfaction for me with
many bits of kit for years, and I have recently been rethinking the whole
thing, and I am much happier (I waited for two years for the promised MIDI
out module on my Nord Modular, but now I know it's not coming I feel so let
down... silly!).

just my 2 cents worth - not a critisism of anyone, more a pointer for a
happier life =0)

I must wholeheartedly agree! (damn.... I'm doing it again.... =0))

amos - who is trying really hard to be satisfied with what he has, but
still wants the Midi out module on his nord modular =0(

I think of ampfea as a central community. Aeon is here too.
Maybe we should get this list off TERRIBLE yahoo and move it to ampfea.
I think Yahoo sells/gives our addresses to spammers.

Who's the moderator here?

How many members are there?
