Ok. http://www.dtek.chalmers.se/~d3berg/sounds/stringme.mp3 is my first attempt at creating strings with the md. Some ploingy sound at the start of the string sound, but you won't hear that in a full mix. EFM-HH as a violin type sound Pitch: 70 Decay: 96 Trem: 101 Tfrq: 64 Mod: 96 Mfrg: 96 Mdec: 127 Fb: 19 (very important parameter, vary this to get more life from the sound) Cut the bass with the filter (Fltf: 64) and the highest treble as well (Fltw: 71). Dist: 64 Rev: 127 (with suitable reverb settings) LFO-page: Param: Fltw Shp2: Inverted ramp Updte: Trig Speed: 34 Depth: 54 Shmix: 127 Parameters not mentioned should be at their original settings for the EFM-HH machine. I hope this can be helpful when it comes to creating you own string sounds. /Janne P.S. http://www.dtek.chalmers.se/~d3berg/sounds/downersbeat.mp3 Some weird hiphop-like beats made with the md D.S.
