Re: [elektron] Does anyone EVER talk about the SidStation here?

2003-07-31 by ofthicktum

I was so impressed with my MD I decided to buy (after a month of deliberation and
intense financial juggling) the SIDstation.
I can understand if people aren't into this synth as it has such a distinct rasping
(Marmite) quality to it. It is more of a "bull in a china shop" compared to the MD which
is a cross between Mr. Miyagi and The Terminator. but since It arrived yesterday the
sounds have so far been nothing but inspiring.
I am slowly going through the manual at the moment and am really interested in the
possibilities of the Wavetable but until then.... one little question......

I seem to be having latency issues even when the SID is plugged directly into a midi
keyboard. Is this part of the SID's "charm" or can it be rectified? I get the impression
that alot of people sample the output and rather than playing it live.
thanks
