Elektron Musical Instruments

Having checked out the web info on the fireworx it looks like the bloke up 
the road is being honest..he plays blues guitar through it however?
loves the distortion...but is threatening to sell it for a vinatge fender 
amp of some kind.that he's seen..he reckons the fireworx is worth about 
\ufffd900.00 uk secondhand...seems alot of money...but the shop price new bring 
me out in a cold sweat!

Having loads and loads of dx plugins etc and stuff...would this unit be 
capable of much besides.I see it's very midi controllable so i guess thats a 
stupid question...how about as a sound source...for abstract sample s 
etc....does anyone know if there is there a pc editor available for ?

I beta sid would sound more than a little different through one...has anyone 
tried?
