I would agree with some of the others here about the Akai. I had an mpc 2000. I had it for years and it was never easy to use. It was great for sequencing though. It could live record next to the md. Not so easy to use as a sampler. Tiny screen, disk space, etc. The newer Z series samplers may be better. Something I'm considering. I thought of the korgs, but they don't seem to have much storage space. Unless they have usb. Those Z have that option.
