Sure it's digital, but the SID output frequency rate is in the Megahertz range, something no va/digital synth can even come close to. Many synths can accumulate phases that quickly, but they employ digital filters to reduce the output frequency to 44.1KHz. And even though people will tell you you can't hear frequencies so high, and the sampling theorems/dsp algorithms are sound, just try sampling a 20KHz sine wave at 44.1KHz, and check out the oscillating amplitude. -N
