I think you might be able to realtime record the note patterns using the onboard keybaord, though. it's basically the same as with the MD (although they haven't implemented realtime parameter locks recording for it yet) except you're using a keybaord instead of 16 small buttons. it's not the traditional way one might think of sequence recording.
