A compressor is very good for getting the signal level higher, and should not be a part of this comparison. Then try different machines with different settings. Some of them have a bit lower level when first loaded up, but that's to make room for the level increase that some parameters can do. When you have done all you can to crank up the basic machines on both machines (no track or master effects) there is no reason that the Monomachine should be more silent than the Machinedrum. It may still be so though, because alot of the sound parts are still in the works. With OS1.0 we should try to have the volume maximised. Hopefully we'll be able to add a compressor as FX to the Monomachine some time, so you can get the level even higher if you want... Daniel
