I think it would be great if they changed this a bit in the new MD OS. Here's my idea: since all of the CC destinations and values are controllable by parameter locks, one can actually change both of them on a given step(s); this provides a very large breadth of options. But it's tedious to program the CC destination and value for every singe CC and every single step. It would be nice if these could be recorded in realtime. That is, run the MIDI out of the device being controlled (e.g. a synth) into the MD and set the MD into realtime record mode. Now tweak parameters on the external device and have the MD record both the CC destination and value of what you've tweaked on the external device. This is common amongst dedicated sequencers (both hard and soft). Now, there are some issues here. For example, the MD has to know which CC to assign the destination/value pair to. It would also have to be configured to listen on the specific MIDI port (relative to that MID machine). There might even be conflicts with recording incoming MIDI data. Etc, etc, etc, ..... I hope Daniel can give us some insight into whether or not such functionality is possible. Joe
