for the midi machines i think the next best thing would be if yo 
could place steps with a CC message but not nessecarily trigger a 
note. in order to change eg. a filter cutoff value half way through a 
long or sustained note...   could this be possible in a future 
update???

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
