stupid question, but are you trying it with different kits? if not then
try it with every possible kit and try it with one of the preset kits.

you've probably thought of this already, but if not then maybe one of
the kits just has a bad parameter setting that's generating the clicks.
or maybe it's the effects settings, etc. (try bypassing the effects by
assigning things to individual outputs (including the suspected bad
main output).
