A couple of other things to consider. A UPS (uninteruptible power supply) would also help. It will first give you a bit of battery backup in case of power failure, also it will regulate the power coming out of the unit so that your wallwart power supply gets a nice constant input voltage. Also, with the wall wart, it is a good idea to unplug it when you aren't going to be using it for a while.
