I have exactly this same problem, if i fiddle around with or
the something touches the power lead my sidstation looses power thus corrupting
the memory, midi channel, etc. I emailed the group about this sort of
indirectly, just cause i noticed i could lower the noise floor by fiddling with
it, getting it "just right", but in doing so i posed the risk of losing all my
patches. Well i got an email from Daniel Hannson saying that he though it
might be the power supply as the lead shouldn't be so tempermental, it seems i
have bought the right one, but just to be on the safe side i'm picking up one
of the power supplies elektron now includes with orders(i got mine before they
did this). They're $25.00 with shipping, if your in the us from
drummachine.com. I'll email the list once mine arrives, hopefully it
alleviates some of the noise my sid puts out (hum...), and the freakishness of
touching the power lead.
