I have lived to the same problem aswell! And i have fixed it!

I tried maaany different PSUs and surge-protectors awsell....

The thing that solved it thou was when i opened the machine and saw that
the cable running from the PSU jack wasn't properly soldered, and when i
tuched it, the cable, or the powerbutton the same problem as you guys had
appeared!!!!

I simply made a new soldering on the PSU jack and from that day my maching
is PERFECT. Now it can take any punishment!

Also, on the first 100units there is a problem that will have that effect
that your user memory will be erased if the machine runf on unclean power,
och if a peak runs throu the unit...... example.... if you turn on your
sidstation first, and then a BIIIG mixingdesk, you memory on the SidSation
may blow....!

I have installed a simple surge-protector where i put mut PSU now (you can
find one in any harwarestore) and that works perfect.
I'm also told that you can return your machine to ELEKTRON and they will
install a magic diode in the machine removing this problem aswell....!

Try this and you will once again fall in love with this wonderful machine!
