Elektron has good support facilities in the US and the UK. They also have reserves on hand for high quality SID chips, something I believe they've got the monopoly on (if they could find more, I'm sure they'd sell more SidStations). Source code I'd bet they'd never release. Tons of very usable IP that I'm sure made it in one form or another into the Monomachine. The amount of work it'd take to deal with customers who fried their own Sid messing with the source hugely outweighs the benefit of releasing the source (which is none, except to perhaps 10 or 15 Sid owners, which is a gracious estimate.
