Elektron Musical Instruments

i haven't played with a monomachine yet ...

but after playing with a machine drum and checking hte MM specs i 
think it's what i want (right now i'm used to composing using 4mono 
channels in the LSDj tracker program on my gameboy).

of all the MM machines, the VO excites me the least ... as is the 
case with ANY vocal synthesizer, it's totaly identifyable and will 
sound dated/classic really quick. i can't even say that's good or 
bad, just the way things are ;D ... however, i think it was a good 
call for elektron to put something very charecteristic like this in 
the MM.

what would you rather have from a machine? MM has the classic 
stuff ... additive analoge sounding synthesis, FM synthesis 
(including that feedback machine, i can't wait to play with that !), 
wave-table/manipulation synthesis ... and then some specialties: SID 
fake for chippers, a pure digital open ended thing, vocal synthesis. 
can you think of  a style of synthesis or specific sound that's 
missing??

to me the apealing aspect of the VO is just the sort of LFO 
manipulation the orginal poster talked about. that's something 
impossible with any vocal synth i know of.

perhaps OS updates will allow for better tweaking of VO 
characteristics, and the MM could have as many different voices as a 
MAC, haha. maybe this is already the case, as i said i havn't played 
w/ the thing yet!
