Just to add to this, I own a MD and would gladly pay for an OS update 
that gives me BRR instead of SRR.  Different distortion algo would be 
nice too, and saving routing options with kits, and LFO tempo sync, and 
etc...

I'm sure others would pay too.

Also, I'd be ok with a switch in the config to jump between OS versions 
although I'd prefer if they just use the (IMHO) unused Classic/Extended 
mode button on the MD.  I was in Classic mode once by accident the 
first day I had the MD, it's been completely useless to me.
