Mine does the same thing. High pitched noise, not unlike the sound a computer monitor makes. If you turn the volume knob of the mono nearly all the way up, and the level of your mixer down accordingly, you can reduce the relative noise level. This is because it is a fixed level output noise, and is there even with the volume knob turned all the way down.
