[BUG] bright bzzzzz on the monomachine !

[BUG] bright bzzzzz on the monomachine !

2004-02-09 by biomesquita

Hi people !

I guess it was after upgrading to that MM OS that pumped up the
output volume that my MM started buzzing and i dunno why ...

Even if i turn the volume down, it´ll keep doing the noise, it only
stops if i turn it off. Does you MM do this as well ?!

It´s not loud, but you can hear it quite well, and brings noise to
the overall sound...

Thanks
nuno

Mine does the same thing. High pitched noise, not unlike the sound a
computer monitor makes. If you turn the volume knob of the mono
nearly all the way up, and the level of your mixer down accordingly,
you can reduce the relative noise level. This is because it is a
fixed level output noise, and is there even with the volume knob
turned all the way down.

Here is a picture of my MnM output noise (normalized).

And here is an FFT

notice all those little chromatic spikes.

So, you're not alone Nuno. Anyone else notice this?

mine is producing a random lofreq rumble type of noise when i load a fresh superwave
machine. doesnt produce the rumble on every note though. sounds like its building up
after a few notes and then goes away again for a couple of notes. quite annoying and
makes the mono totally unusable at the moment.
hope Elektron are aware of this and already work on a fix.

I hve this too, I thought it's something I don't understand and to do
with unison and some other strange things.. If this is bug, it should
be fixed, of course.

I people !

I guess i slipped on a n00b mistak

I changed the plug to another socket and it no longer maker noise...

Must be the internal power adapter that makes it...

Now i nearly don´t have any noise ;)

Watch out for bad electrical wiring in the home!!!
I have also had many noise problems just like you.

In my old apartment the electricity was so bad that I couldn't even
touch the aluminum front panel of my MD because it was charged-up
and would shock me! I had to be careful and make sure I only
touched the plastic buttons and knobs. If I tried to use a
microphone for recording all I would hear was white noise. Even if
I just plugged my computer into the wall socket it would
automatically just switch itself on, without even having to touch
the power switch. I think there was some serious excess power
flowing through the building.

BTW - Since moving apartments all of these problems have
disappeared. So if you want a nice clean MnM sound, go buy a new
house ;-)
