I don't really have a problem getting good drum sounds out of the MD. I usually start with one thing when its drums only and then morph it to fit the track once some synth parts are added. that's the luxury you have with electronics (versus real drum recording that is) so I exploit it as much as possible, having been upset about how my own drums have dissappeared in the mix when all is said and done. anyway, that's my only suggestion - use your initial drum sounds to help shape the tone of the song and then tailor them to the general mix later. and don't just use the TRX bass drum; try *everything* (even toms!). the EFM BD is great, for example :-) Joe
