Elektron Musical Instruments

just got my MD a few days ago and im trying to figure out the midi 
out settings. when i first hooked the MD to my Nord Mod and pressed 
play it played the nord on every channel(midi freakfest), but i just 
wanted to send midi out from the midi machines. i figured it was 
something in the global midi setup, probobly to do with the midi 
map, so i tryed to change the midi map to off, but they change back 
to defualt when u go to the next pattern..... i couldnt figure it 
out, so i changed the global setup and tryed all of them 1-8 and 
what do u know? the 8th one worked, so now i can trigger my nord 
from the MD and it works great.
my question is- how do i change the global setup so that i can use 
the MD in this way? i also want to use my mpd16 pad to play the pads 
so i want both worlds. should i just be happy i figured it out 
without making any changes?
by the way- great piece of kit, best since the nord modular. i luv 
this machine.
