Hi everybody I haven't been active on this list for a while, so here comes a late suggestion to achieving a reverse cymbal: My usual "trick" to make sounds fade in slowly is to assign the LFO to volume (invert single-cycle ramp, trig position) and then adjust the depth and speed settings. If you want the sound to be chopped off, just enter a new event with volume lock programmed to 0. Nice way of exploiting the fact that each machine is monophonic. I think this will work quite well with a reversed cymbal sound. Just use the E12 crash cymbal set to max level. Btw, I once made a kit consisting only E12 ride cymbals, tweaked to the unrecognisable. :) The downside of this way of programming is that you might get a click when the MD triggers the sound.
