no need to worry about it.  ;-) "permanent" may not be the best word to
describe it (though I don't know a better one).  from what I can tell, 
all that
they mean is that the changes you make in the CTR machines actually
change the values of parameters on the other machines. it's as if you

yes and no. you can certainly do this. but things get slightly messy if
a parameter is near the min/max values (0 and 127 or -64 and +64). for
example, if you add 7 to all DEC parameters and track one's DEC was set
to 124, then it will be set to 127 after you've added 7. BUT when you 
then
try to delete 7 from it, it will be at 120 instead of 124. this happens 
with
the FUNCTION+parameter tweak as well.
