Elektron Musical Instruments

I think you're going to get the most bang for your buck out of a Lexican
MPX1. They go for about $500 used. If you can go a little higher then go
for a TC Fireworx.
If you need multiple ins/outs, then an Ensoniq DP/4 will probably suit
you well and cost ~$350.
The other TC multi-fx boxes are good too.
