the imic's nice kit - i use it with my laptop when i want to record my minidiscs,
because it's a hell of a lot quieter than the built-in soundcard.

answer a few questions, first:

1. how many synths do you plan to own?
2. how many do you want to listen to/record at once?
3. do you own or plan to own a mixing board?
4. how much are you willing to spend?
