thanks for the tip.  after i gave it some thought i realized you'd 
benefit most from being able to adjust the gain going back into the 
sid....i was thinking in terms of mixer/patchbay routing(or maybe a 
dedicated preamp...eh)....but the sampler idea is great and wouldn't 
take much patching to get working.
