Selling my MONOMACHINE & my SIDSTATION

Selling my MONOMACHINE & my SIDSTATION

2004-12-14 by h356j3703j

Dear Futurist,

I am selling my SIDSTATION and my MONOMACHINE.

My wife is pregnant and I need to grow up.

I feel sick, sort of.

I just bought the MONOMACHINE last month from one of you guys on
ebay. The
SIDSTATION I have had for years (as the original owner). The prices
are fixed because I
don't like selling them. I thought you guys should know. Thanks

The MONOMACHINE SFX6: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?
ViewItem&item=3769753981

This is the saddest post ever.

Had the same feeling when I had to sell my MD a year ago :(((((((

Make wife and baby happy, and save money when you can. But you'll be
busy with for months/years so… ;)

You should teach your future child to play the monomachine as their first instrument
IMHO. Think of when your son/daughter grows up to become a world famous
musician, and someone asked them in an interview what their first musical instrument was
(expecting to get an answer like piano, or violin) and they reply "monomachine"! That
would be so rad!

That's actually a pretty cool argument for keeping it. (It sold on
ebay but the "buyer" who
used buy-it-now for
the auction isn't real). I am probably going to relist it tonight.

But, truthfully, it would be
great to "train" the kid to learn the MONOMACHINE and the SIDSTATION.
What a great
rationalization for me to refuse to be responsible.! Thanks :-)

The MonoMachine has been relisted on ebay for 1,299.99 but it is for
sale ONLY in the
USA (sorry) and the only form of payment that I accept is PAYPAL
(sorry again)

i can see why you dont feel good, how does having a baby mean selling
gear, i mean obviously financial but thats called get a job. think
about it, that equipment you sell, that 'growing up' you do, whats the
price of that compromise to you and ultimately to your little one. its
a shame that you are going to give up some really unique equipment
that your child could take seriously one day. my daughter (8) loves
experimenting with the MD, and keyboards, kaoss pad etc.. not only
is it an awesome way to put in time with the kid, (i'm not into
playing barbie.) you can to pass on knowledge of something you solid.
these days she's in 'our' studio playing more than i am! being a
father, thinking of your child and their future, is taking
responsibility... thats growing up.

congrats and good luck
