MD as master, Cubase as slave: possible ??

MD as master, Cubase as slave: possible ??

2004-12-30 by holographiccircusrecords

Hi there,

I have one more question:

I want to use the MD as my master and Cubase sx as the slave.
The MD doesn't seem to provide MTC, but only midi clock, but cubase
doesn't slave to midi clock, only to MTC... !
So as far as I can find out here, I can't use the MD as a master and
Cubase as the slave.. Only Cubase as the Master and MD as the slave...
Or does anybody know how to make MD the master over Cubase, maybe ??
I checked other posts on the forum but can't figure out what to do.

One remark: I see several complaints about the Cubase midi clock and
that it's drifting and so. I never had that problem. I use SX2.
I checked it by recording the same bass drum twice (audio), over 4
minutes, MD synced to Cubase midi clock, and the only thing I got was
a tiny bit of variation between a tight sound of two perfectly
synchronized bass drums and a little bit of flanging on the bass
drums.

I tried to slave Cubase before as well but unfortunately it's
impossible. Like you said, Cubase doesn't lock to midi clock.
