help? new sid user...

2001-02-23 by ripe

Ok, I just got my sid. I love the sounds, they fit well with a screaming
dx100 :)

The problem I'm having is using the sid with my hardware sequencers. I have
a mobius and rm1x controlling the sid, but the timing is so poor that I
can't use it for an entire track! I can fix the problems with the hcut
parameter, but then the notes are triggering way to late! I don't have a
way to slide the note timing forward at all with looping hardware
sequencers, so I'm stuck!

does anyone here use the sid with hardware sequencers? Is there something
else I can do to improve the timing or am I going to be unable to use my
sid!

any help appreciated!

cheers

I ran into this early on. either you shorten hcut and live with the
buggy envelopes, or you lengthen it and live with the delays. the
solution is to get a hardware sequencer that supports shifting tracks
"back in time" to get around the sidstation slowness. my ASQ10 (MPC60
minus the sampling) handles this with no problems.
