Elektron user wave

2005-04-14 by Simon James

I was at music expo today and saw and heard the new machine. It is cool if
you don't already own the machine drum but I'm not sure those that own that
already will want to spend money just for the sampling feature.

Saying that, being able to use all the cool Elektron sound manipulation
tools on your own samples is really amazing. I got to hear the re-trigger
function on some sampled beats. Impressive.

I have a monomachine and will definitely be saving to get the UW.

Me, too. I'm really excited about it. I think anyone who disses this
machine isn't getting the fact that you can use *your own samples* to
do sound design in the MD environment. How kickass is that?

as far as i could gather you just sample thru the 2 inputs in realtime like a regular sampler

why would need MIDI sample dump when you can do it it realtime, much quicker!

All I'm saying is that the technology is there to do it. Don't have to
trim samples that way, either. Doesn't really matter to me; it will be
some time till I can afford the UW.
