Elektron Musical Instruments

I hope that MD without UW will still get some OS updates or can work
with OS-Updates for UW!

From Elektron the future OS upgrades will be both machines...

it will.  in the friend update, they had a FAQ list and one of them was
"will the MD be discontinued."  they said that it wouldn't, that you
should "choose your flavor" and that, on the contrary, the MD will receive
every OS update that the MD-UW does.
