Elektron Musical Instruments

Hi

I'm having difficulty loading a new song in the machinedrum, I'm 
trying to 

Start with a song playing 
Then switch into pattern mode to loop a pattern from the song
Then load a new song and switch from pattern mode back into song mode
All without stoping and re-starting playback.

When I do this the new song isn't loaded it is still the 1st song 
that is loaded.  Is anyone else having similar problems?

Me... i found a solution : i don't use song mode (because i don't want 
to push stop while playing...)

But song mode is good, I like song mode.  Changing pattern start and 
end points makes great variations on patterns.

What you can do is to have one big song and lots of differents 
pattern and alternate between this "big song" and all your patterns...

to my knowledge, the MD isn't supposed to have this functionality.  it IS
supposed to be able to come out of song mode and loop the last played
pattern, though.  so if that's not working then something's off.  but I've
never heard that it should be able to load a new song in pattern mode and
then switch to that song seamlessly.

I don't see why you shouldn't be able to do this, you can start off 
in pattern mode and load a song while the pattern is playing and 
switch into it.  Once you have done that though you can't replace 
that song without stopping.
