hey kkonkkrete...

i am using the M-AUDIO MIDISport Uno for exactly the same purpose as you want to. backing up and loading samples.
its working with my old amd1000 w2k usb1, and also with my vaio notebook, pentium m 2000, usb2.
just plug it in, install the software, about 500kb and ready.
so far, had no problems with mduw, mono or sid.

Hi Stef ---

one quick question: you got it working in closed-loop transfer mode?

I've seen other posts saying they couldn't get it to work. Somehow I just find it very hard
to bring myself to buy an M-AUDIO product.

Ideally I'd like the Turbo MIDI, but I just can't wait that long to start loading samples. And
knowing Elektron, my guess is it's not going to be cheap (45 Euros for a wall-wart power
supply?)
