It depends on what sampling ratio you choose.
AFAIK:
As long as you keep the total size below two megs you can create very long samples...

The MD always converts everything to mono upon import too, right?

yes, you have control over the sampleing rate, but kHz is always the
same ... 48kHz i believe ...

also, your tempo effects the total sample time ... the length limit on
samples is 2 bars.

Tarekith, yes, the RAM REC machines do summing to convert input to
mono, and have an IBAL parameter to choose how the L/R input volumes
are weighted
