Re: [elektron] MD SPS1 or UW ???

I can prob help with ur start stop midi and protools issues, I used to have my MD start and stop protools, but recently did the opposite, it works WAY better... Basically, use the midi beat clock in protools, under -> Midi So you enable & send the beat clock to the proper Mdrum midi channel.... Hit play in protools and voila, your MDrum also starts playing.... Syncs great, and the tempo on the MDrum goes to EXT, so it matches the tempo in protools... I have only tested this in Protools le 6, but i think 5le had midi beat clock too.... -JC

Subject: [elektron] MD SPS1 or UW ???
Hello guys.
I'm still thinking about upgrading my SPS1 to a UW. But what I want
to know is this:
1) I have an EMU world sounds synth, which, has some excellent
ethnic percussive sounds that I'd like to be able to play/trigger
using patterns created in the SPS1
2)whilst also playing sounds created within the SPS1 at the same
time in real time into my sequecer Pro Tools 5 le.
Is this possible with my current setup, just the SPS1?
If so could someone tell how this is to be achieved? I cant even
manage to sync my PT with the SPS1 so that pressing play on one
plays everything in in the SPS1 and PT in sync.
Or is it a case of having to upgrade to the UW where I can load the
sounds straight into the UW and mix and match in the homogeneous
environment of the UW? in which case I will loose in track count.
I need proper answers to one as opposed to
"yes! I think it can be done. I've got a friend's mate's uncle's
brother who once might have had this set-up maybe" as it could be
quite costly.
Thanx
