Elektron Musical Instruments

Any details or speculation regarding the TURBO-MIDI interface?  I
checked the archives but there are only a couple references and not
too much information.

The Elektron site says "Speed up sample transfer with upcoming
Elektron TURBO-MIDI USB interface".  

Is it torturously slow today?  Think their might be the possibility of
adding addt'l sample memory?  USB Thumbdrive?  Something that will be
user-installable? Ballpark price, ballpark release date?
