monomachine contrast problem

monomachine contrast problem

2006-04-16 by justinkmaxwell

Hi all,

I've had an sfx-60 for about two years now and I'd like to know if
anyone else can verify this problem.

The display contrast on it is constantly fading. It seems the LED
power draw is directly proportional to LED contrast. I sent it down
to LA for repair and he couldn't reproduce it. After much discussion
with Elektron and the tech in LA, they suggested it was the wiring in
my apartment studio.

None of the other synths in my studio experience any problems due to
this wiring issue. Everything goes through furman power conditioners
first, as well. Therefore, I find it hard to believe the problem is
my studio and not a fault in the hardware design or PSU.

Any thoughts? Anyone else experiencing anything like this?

Thanks,
Justin

RE: [elektron] monomachine contrast problem

In my case it was the wiring of my old house, and the mnm seemed very
sensible to this, it was the onjy device to show power problems, (display
turns whiter and whiter). Now I moved and this has dissapeared. I don\ufffdt use
any power conditioner, though,
nice music!
