dedicated compressor

Is anyone using an external compressor to process the MD? I'm looking
something to give it a bit more of body before recording and I'm
thinking in getting a dedicated compressor for it.

do you know any that sits well with the MD's tone?

thanks,
Rui

i use the FMR RNLA a lot. it's cheap, sounds really rally great and can really add some
punch.

also, more pricey but nice and punchy sounding.. warm, and capable of tube overdrive is
the TLA audio 5021.. has a great front end.. everything i record thru it sounds better.

Re: [elektron] dedicated compressor

I've suggested a TC Triple C to a few friends after buying two myself.
I have nothing but great things to say about it.
Multiband and fullband compression, plus an envelope follower, and an
analog warmth emulation that sounds damn nice.
Can be found on ebay for ~$250 or so.
Watch out as there are mono and stereo versions, and they look the same.

Hello"!

Dont have an MD but mono... What i think you must do is to assign your md to both
master and a subgroup on your mixer and use the compressor in the bus-insert, and
smack the helloutofthebuss and mix the toghter, that way you get transisents preserved
and really heavy compressed mixed togheter.... only use a analog compressor due to
phaseproblems with digital....
