Editor for Monomachine

Editor for Monomachine

2006-06-26 by rivotk2003

I know that the Machinedrum has an editor (mac only) and that synths
like the Dave Smith Evolver have software editors, but does anyone
know if anyone has made an editor for the Monomachine? I have the
desktop version and it would be alot easier to program this thing with
some form of software editor. Even if it was one I had to pay for.

not that i know of, but i say the MnM is easier to program than most other
synths out there, so maybe there hasn't been a need for one...?

Editing Elektron instruments is a doddle, but machine and kit
management could benefit from editor/librarian software.

I guess I can agree with the last statement, Kit management would be nice with some sort of library software.

Actually tweaking instruments though im glad to be hands-on...

All I really want the editor for is making sequences. Im just so used
to reason when it comes to sequencing that im stuck in that mode. So
getting used to the MNM is hard.

So, you could use MnM as a sound module and sequence it from reason
via midi. This way you loose the parameter locks, though. I would
suggest that you just learn to use the MnM. It isn't so hard and in
the end of the day, you might like it better (many people here prefer
it over mousing).

That's what it's all about in for me. Get away from the computer and
Make Music instead of mousing around, arranging your stuff until the
inspiration runs out.

Computers though can be very handy for certain tasks. Editing samples,
recording, mastering etc. And why not a kit, sound, song librarian.
Everything where a mouse and keyboard kicks in.

Of course, each one can prefer their own way of doing music, but
limiting the MD/Mono to a sound module would be very limiting in my eyes.
