Elektron Musical Instruments

My sid station sometimes plays notes out of time when playing back
MIDI phrases. Is this normal? For example, if i just put a note on
every quarter note for 4 measures, about every 6th note will be early
or late. There doesn't seem to be any discernible pattern though. Is
this normal? It's out of time enough for me to hear it and for it to
bother me, but I was wondering if other people have noticed this.

yes it is normal... there is some parameter that you can tune that  
gives u better timing but more latency.... something to do with the  
SID chip and the way it works...

you can switch the osc envelope gate to [*] for the best timing but
its difficult to get some types of sounds that way. the other solution
is to  change the hard cut setting in sync menu and trigger the note
early. neither is perfect but should solve your problem.
